case study:
oncology & immuno-oncology pipelining project

Our client was looking to build their pipeline of external talent within their Oncology and Immuno-Oncology teams that were responsible for the delivery of Medical Science components of our client’s pipeline programs. The teams consisted of Clinical Leaders, Physicians and Clinical Scientists and they were critical to the progression of our client’s pipeline of drugs. 

Our client had conducted a workforce planning exercise and had identified that they had a succession planning risk within these teams specifically, with a high proportion of their business-critical roles with no ‘ready now’ or ‘ready near future’ internal candidates in their pipeline. As a result, they were keen to understand the external market better with a view to identifying talented individuals to build their pipeline of talent within this area.

We completed a market mapping exercise to identify suitable individuals for circa 6-10 business critical roles within their Oncology and Immuno-Oncology teams, followed by some approach work for particular high potential individuals of interest to gauge their interest in future opportunities within the business. Some example roles that were included were Global Clinical Lead, Immuno-Oncology, Director, Global Products, Oncology and Study Physician, Immuno-Oncology. The search was global, but the roles were based in the UK and US.
